On writing

To write has two aspects: it is to go inward, but it is also possible to go outward, when publishing the written words and thoughts on a blog i.e.. Writing is to communicate with oneself, but it can also be a possibility to build a bridge to others. How fascinating. Critical minds may add that words also can destroy bridges. What immense power words can have.

No question, words can be used as both bridges and weapons that can knock bridges down. I think Virginia Woolf said that a piece of writing isn't finished until somebody reads it, and Jean Paul Sartre called writing "directed creation"--basically the writer gives directions for the reader to create meaning. Meanwhile, my writing of this comment is coming off like a lot of really pretentious namedropping. Sorry. I like your blog.

Sartre was my favourite author and philosopher in my twenites, so...
