...and of course I regretted it that all the awesome shops were closed today, because in Germany on Sundays the shops have to be closed. It still is so. Grghhhhhh.
I love reading your blog, and especially enjoying your writing about Berlin. I live in England but visited there once and your posts make me want to go there again! Maybe it is good that the shops have to stay closed on Sundays. I wish it was still like that in the UK. It is nice to have a day for peace, quiet and rest. Enjoy your Sunday. Gemma x
But then if the shops are closed on Sunday, how does the working class shop?? Here, in Mumbai - you will find majority shopping happening on Sundays. People who are working will buy weekly stock of vegetables/ chicken/fish and other items on Sundays. Its nice to know about different places from your blog. Am sure you must be having a wonderful time visiting various countries.
Hi Anitha, We Germans have to do our shoppings (all of them) on Saturdays. Of course there are a few exceptions. I.e. bakeries are allowed to have open. But usually downtown is deserted because all the shops are close. If you missed to buy food you have to go out for dinner. That's why gas stations sometimes sell food as well, but spaghetti, sandwiches and stuff like that. Namaste. U
